The hospital traces its roots to a 1954 clinic in Shajing and, after transforming to an integrated Chinese-Western medicine model in 2018, was rated a national Grade-3A integrated hospital in 2021. It now serves a population of more than 1.5 million in western Bao'an as a city medical group with one main hospital, one community hospital and 37 community health centres.
