Beijing offers two excellent commercial health screening options for foreign visitors: JD Health, a purpose-built premium facility backed by JD group, and Meinian Onehealth, China’s largest screening network with 8 locations across Beijing’s main districts. Both complete a full-panel annual health check in a single 3–4 hour morning appointment, with results delivered within 3–7 working days. China Care coordinates bookings at both chains across Beijing at no coordination fee.

Key Facts

  • Beijing has the highest concentration of Grade 3A hospitals of any city in China, including Peking Union Medical College Hospital (PUMCH), widely considered China’s top clinical reference institution — making it the strongest city in the country for specialist follow-up if a screening identifies a condition requiring further investigation.
  • JD Health, listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, operates dedicated health screening centres in Beijing that are purpose-built premium facilities, separate from public hospital outpatient departments, with a dedicated SVIP suite offering private examination rooms and priority imaging access.
  • A comprehensive health screening at a Beijing commercial centre — covering blood work, imaging, ECG, specialist physical exams, and genetic risk reports — is completed in a single 3–4 hour morning appointment, with digital results delivered within 3–7 working days.
  • Meinian Onehealth operates 8 Beijing locations across Chaoyang (CBD, Sanlitun, embassy area), Haidian (university district), and Xicheng districts, making it the most geographically accessible commercial screening option for foreigners in any Beijing neighbourhood.
  • For health screening bookings in Beijing, China Care acts as your direct representative. Customers pay the comprehensive package fee to China Care, and we manage the hospital reservation and payment on your behalf.

Can Foreigners Get Health Screenings in Beijing?

Yes — foreign nationals can access health screening services at private and commercial screening centres in Beijing without a Chinese national ID. The process differs slightly from what Chinese residents experience:

Identification: Your passport is accepted at all major commercial screening chains (Meinian, JD Health). No Chinese national ID is required.

Language: At JD Health, the SVIP tier includes an English-speaking client liaison. At Meinian, China Care provides a bilingual coordinator throughout registration and results review.

Payment: To secure your health screening in Beijing, packages must be booked and paid for in advance. China Care acts as your trusted local representative—you pay the package fee directly to us, and we take care of all the hospital coordination and payments on your behalf.

Visa status: Expatriates on work permits, tourists on tourist visas, and visitors on China’s 240-hour transit visa exemption are all eligible. See our full guide to getting medical treatment in China visa-free for details.

Standard health screenings at both JD Health and Meinian are completed in 3 to 4 hours in a single morning. You arrive fasted, complete all stations in sequence, and leave with confirmation that your digital results will follow within 3–7 working days.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to speak Chinese to get a health screening in Beijing?

No. China Care provides a bilingual coordinator for all bookings at both Meinian and JD Health. Results documents are in Chinese but China Care can arrange a follow-up English-language results walkthrough.

What is the difference between JD Health and Meinian in Beijing?

JD Health is positioned as a premium dedicated facility — separate reception, SVIP suite, priority imaging access, stronger emphasis on a private environment. Meinian has broader geographical coverage across Beijing and multiple clinical tiers. China Care will recommend based on your priorities and budget when you enquire.

Can I use my Chinese employer health insurance or foreign insurance?

Commercial screening centres typically require out-of-pocket payment. You can request an official Chinese invoice (发票) for reimbursement submission to your insurer. Many employer-sponsored international policies cover preventive health screenings — check with your insurer before booking.

How soon can I book?

China Care can typically confirm a booking within 24 hours, with slots available within the same week at most Beijing locations. September and January (pre-Chinese New Year) are busy periods; book early if your dates fall there.

What if something abnormal is found?

The physician on duty at the screening centre will flag abnormal results and may recommend follow-up. China Care can assist with referrals to Beijing’s specialist hospitals. See our Hospital Directory for Beijing tertiary hospitals with international patient services, including GoBroad Hospital for oncology and CAR-T therapy.

Are the results valid for employer physicals or visa applications?

Meinian and JD Health are licensed medical facilities and their results carry official stamps. For immigration medicals (e.g., UK, Hong Kong employment visa), a designated panel physician examination is required — which is a different process from a commercial health screening. Contact China Care to clarify what format your employer or immigration authority requires.

Can I bring family members to the same appointment?

Yes. Multiple family members can book at the same centre on the same day. China Care can coordinate group bookings for families or corporate groups.
